
Tiger Woods said he would like to see testing on the PGA Tour for performance-enhancing drugs as soon as possible to make sure golf remains clean.
"I don't know when we could get that implemented," Woods said. "Tomorrow would be fine with me."
Woods did not say he thought anyone was using steroids, but said it could be a problem in the future.
"I think we should be proactive instead of reactive," he said. "I just think we should be ahead of it and keep our sport as pure as can be. This is a great sport, and it's always been clean."

Former major-league slugger Albert Belle was sentenced to 90 days in jail and five years' supervised probation Thursday in a case in which he admitted stalking his former girlfriend.
Belle, 39, pleaded guilty in July to one felony stalking count. He was been arrested and charged in February, then arrested again May 17 at his Scottsdale home after he again contacted the victim. He has been jailed since the second arrest and received credit for time served only since he entered his plea.

Players making racist remarks or gestures could be banned for up to five matches, according to new UEFA disciplinary regulations announced Monday.

Anyone who insults the human dignity of a person or group of persons, by whatever means, including on grounds of color, race, religion or ethnic origin will now face a maximum five-game ban.
In addition, any club whose supporters engage in racist or discriminatory conduct will receive a minimum fine of $24,250.

Reigning Olympic and world 100-meter champion Justin Gatlin said Saturday he has been informed that he tested positive for testosterone or its precursors.
"Precursors" is another term for anabolic steroids.
"I have been informed by the United States Anti-doping Agency that after a relay race I ran in Kansas City on April 22, I tested positive for 'testosterone or its precursors,' " Gatlin said in a statement.

That may be getting a little ahead of the game, but in an interview on 670 The Score in Chicago, Trump said he'd be interested in purchasing the franchise.
Trump, appearing as a guest on the "Mike North Morning Show," was asked if he would want to own the team. His reply: "I would be interested, yeah. I think the Cubs are a great franchise, a storied franchise, an amazing franchise.

Team to dismiss Landis if excessive level of testosterone confirmed
Tour de France champion Floyd Landis tested positive for high levels of testosterone during the race, his Phonak team said Thursday on its Web site.
The statement came a day after the UCI, cycling’s world governing body, said an unidentified rider had failed a drug test during the Tour.
And the statement came just four days after Landis stood on the victory podium on the Champs-Elysees, succeeding seven-time winner Lance Armstrong as an American winner in Paris.
